Game Description
The ground trembles, a monstrous roar echoes through the wilderness, and suddenly you're staring down a beast ten times your size! Welcome to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, where every hunt is a thrilling test of courage, preparation, and skill. Begin your adventure in the coastal settlement of Moga Village, then venture into sprawling forests, volcanic landscapes, and dangerous underwater environments in pursuit of legendary creatures. From the fire-breathing Rathalos to the electrifying Lagiacrus, these aren't ordinary enemies. With real-time, weapon-based combat, you'll need sharp reflexes, careful observation, and a hunter's instincts to survive!
Every successful hunt brings new possibilities! Carve valuable materials from defeated monsters, forge increasingly powerful armor, and master 12 distinct weapon types, from massive Great Swords and explosive Gunlances to lightning-fast Dual Blades. This action RPG for Nintendo 3DS rewards patience and experimentation as you learn monster attack patterns, exploit elemental weaknesses, and prepare traps for your next expedition. The return of underwater hunting adds another dimension to the challenge, while the Target Camera and customizable touch-screen controls help keep dangerous creatures in sight on Nintendo's handheld system.
And just when you think you've mastered the wilderness, the real giants come calling! Face fearsome newcomers like Brachydios, whose explosive slime attacks can turn a routine hunt into a desperate struggle, and work your way toward the punishing challenges of G-Rank. Expanded from the original Wii adventure, Monster Hunter Tri, this 2013 physical Nintendo 3DS release packs an enormous hunting journey into a portable cartridge. With memorable monsters, satisfying equipment progression, and the unmistakable thrill of finally conquering a seemingly unstoppable beast, it's a rewarding chapter of Capcom's celebrated Monster Hunter series.

Historical Trivia or Fun Fact
First released in Japan in December 2011 as Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's predecessor, Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G, this expanded adventure built upon Capcom's 2009 Wii hit, Monster Hunter Tri, before reaching North America on March 19, 2013. Under the direction of Kaname Fujioka, the enhanced version brought back underwater combat while introducing additional monsters, equipment, and demanding G-Rank quests. Its flagship monster, Brachydios, became especially memorable for its explosive slime-covered fists, giving hunters a distinctive new challenge. The Nintendo 3DS release also helped bring the series' deep hunting experience to a wider handheld audience during an important period of Monster Hunter's growth.
