Star Wars: Rogue Squadron puts you in the cockpit alongside Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance's most daring pilots for an explosive series of missions inspired by the original Star Wars trilogy. With Wedge Antilles and the legendary Rogue Squadron at your side, you'll engage Imperial TIE fighters, destroy heavily armored walkers, and defend innocent civilians against overwhelming enemy forces. Featuring intense aerial dogfights, cinematic combat, and authentic Star Wars atmosphere, this Nintendo 64 adventure delivers the excitement of piloting a Rebel starfighter through the galaxy's most dangerous battlefields!
Every mission brings a new battlefield, a different objective, and another chance to become a Rebel hero! Pilot the legendary X-wing, A-wing, Y-wing, V-wing, and snowspeeder, each offering distinctive weapons and flight characteristics. Protect Mos Eisley from Imperial attacks, battle across the misty terrain of Barkhesh, and bring down towering AT-AT walkers using your snowspeeder's tow cable. From bombing runs and reconnaissance assignments to desperate rescue operations, victory demands more than simply shooting everything in sight. With 16 action-packed missions and a wide variety of enemy vehicles, every sortie tests your reflexes, accuracy, and tactical instincts.
Think you've earned your wings? The real challenge begins when you start chasing those coveted gold medals! Replay missions to improve your accuracy, eliminate more enemies, protect friendly units, and complete objectives faster. Earn bronze, silver, and gold medals to unlock bonus missions and additional spacecraft, including the legendary Millennium Falcon. Discover hidden secrets, master increasingly difficult combat scenarios, and experience the thrill of classic Star Wars space battles from a fresh perspective. Historical Trivia or Fun Fact
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron launched in North America in November 1998, bringing the Rebel Alliance's legendary fighter squadron to life through an original adventure set between Star Wars: A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Developed by German studio Factor 5 in collaboration with LucasArts, the game expanded on the thrilling snowspeeder combat that had impressed players in Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, transforming that experience into an entire game of aerial warfare. It was also an early showcase for the Nintendo 64 Expansion Pak, supporting high-resolution graphics at up to 640 ร 480. As an especially memorable secret, the game included a hidden Naboo N-1 Starfighter from the then-upcoming Star Wars: Episode I โ The Phantom Menace, with its unlock code revealed around the film's 1999 release.
