Pokémon Pearl Version helped introduce the Sinnoh region and more than 100 new Pokémon during the franchise’s move to Nintendo DS, reaching North America in 2007. Developed by Game Freak, Pearl and its companion Diamond also marked the first main-series Pokémon generation built around Nintendo DS hardware, bringing the Pokétch, touch-screen interface features, and the expansive Underground to the traditional adventure. Sinnoh later returned in Pokémon Platinum and was revisited years later through Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
