From there, every expedition leads into shifting Mystery Dungeons packed with hostile Pokémon, hidden items, traps, and unexpected discoveries as your Exploration Team searches for answers behind the mysterious Time Gears.
Unlike the traditional Trainer-focused adventures, this RPG for Nintendo DS puts you directly into the Pokémon world, where every step through a dungeon advances both enemies and allies in turn-based fashion. Randomized layouts keep expeditions unpredictable, while recruiting Pokémon, managing supplies, and choosing moves reward careful planning. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time arrived in North America in 2008 as part of the second major Pokémon Mystery Dungeon adventure, paired with Explorers of Darkness. Developer Chunsoft set out to bring more new Pokémon into the series while creating a more dramatic storyline, expanding the dungeon-crawling formula established by the earlier Rescue Team games. The adventure also brought nearly the entire Generation IV roster into Mystery Dungeon, connecting this branch of the franchise more closely with the Nintendo DS era of Pokémon.
