Game Description
Pokémon battles become campaigns for an entire kingdom in Pokémon Conquest, a bold crossover that trades the familiar Trainer journey for tactical warfare across the region of Ransei. As a young Warlord partnered with Eevee, recruit Warriors and their Pokémon, invade rival kingdoms, and position your forces across varied battlefields where movement matters as much as type advantage. Each victory expands your territory and strengthens your army, but the powerful Nobunaga has his own plans for uniting Ransei—and the Legendary Pokémon said to appear when all 17 kingdoms become one.
Battles unfold as turn-based tactical skirmishes with armies of up to six Pokémon, challenging you to consider attack range, terrain, positioning, abilities, and elemental matchups before committing to a move. Every kingdom brings its own battlefield personality: Ignis erupts with lava and fire hazards, while other arenas introduce obstacles and conditions that can reshape your strategy from turn to turn. Recruiting defeated Warriors, discovering compatible Pokémon, and developing stronger Links gives this tactical RPG for Nintendo DS a satisfying rhythm of conquest, preparation, and increasingly powerful team combinations.
What makes Pokémon Conquest such a memorable Nintendo DS release is how confidently it combines two very different worlds without losing the appeal of either one. Nearly 200 Pokémon meet Warriors and Warlords inspired by Japan's feudal era, while familiar Pokémon strengths, evolutions, and type relationships become pieces in a much larger strategy game. Developed by Koei Tecmo Games and built as a crossover with the long-running Nobunaga's Ambition series, this physical cartridge release stands apart as one of Pokémon's most distinctive spin-offs and an especially fascinating entry for franchise collectors.

Historical Trivia or Fun Fact
Pokémon Conquest arrived in North America in 2012 as an unexpected crossover between Pokémon and Koei Tecmo's long-running Nobunaga's Ambition strategy series. The collaboration grew in part from Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara's enthusiasm for Nobunaga's Ambition, ultimately transforming Pokémon battles into a tactical campaign inspired by Japan's feudal era. Even Ransei's structure carries a clever connection between the franchises: its 17 kingdoms mirrored the 17 Pokémon types that existed when the game was created.
