Game Description
A sparkling crystal has shattered across the stars, and only one pink hero can put it back together! Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards sends Nintendo's lovable puffball on a colorful rescue mission after the sinister Dark Matter invades Ripple Star, home of the peaceful fairies. Teaming up with a young fairy named Ribbon, Kirby sets out to recover the scattered Crystal Shards and restore peace to the galaxy. Along the way, familiar friends become unexpected foes, mysterious worlds hide valuable secrets, and classic side-scrolling platforming bursts to life with charming 3D graphics and delightful surprises.
Why settle for one superpower when you can mix two together? Kirby's incredible Power Combo system lets you combine seven different Copy Abilities to unleash 28 imaginative combinations! Merge Burning and Cutter to wield a blazing sword, mix Ice and Spark to transform into a food-spitting refrigerator, or combine Bomb and Cutter to unleash explosive ninja stars. Journey through the grassy landscapes of Pop Star, the scorching deserts of Rock Star, and the mysterious machinery of Shiver Star while hunting down cleverly concealed treasures. With inventive abilities and hidden Crystal Shards, experimentation is half the adventure!
Kirby won't have to save the galaxy entirely alone! Waddle Dee lends a helping hand, Adeleine uses her artistic talents, and King Dedede joins the journey as the adventure grows increasingly dangerous. Battle memorable bosses, uncover all 74 Crystal Shards to reveal the complete ending, and challenge friends in three entertaining multiplayer mini-games. Developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo in 2000, this Nintendo 64 console cartridge release captures the magic of traditional Kirby platforming with a fresh visual twist. For fans searching for a Kirby 64 Nintendo 64 platformer, it's a wonderfully imaginative adventure filled with colorful worlds, clever secrets, and irresistible charm!

Historical Trivia or Fun Fact
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards marked Kirby's first major adventure on the Nintendo 64, bringing the series' beloved side-scrolling gameplay into a colorful world of polygonal characters and environments. Released in North America in June 2000, HAL Laboratory's platformer introduced the distinctive Power Combo system, allowing players to mix two Copy Abilities into surprising new attacks rather than relying on individual powers alone. The adventure also reunited Kirby with familiar faces like King Dedede while introducing Ribbon and Adeleine, whose roles helped expand the series' growing cast. Its memorable blend of traditional platforming, creative transformations, and hidden collectibles made it one of the Nintendo 64's most recognizable late-generation adventures.
